Corrie fed me this drink last night, and it was amaaazing. Definitely have a new fave. 1 1/2 oz gin 3/4 oz fresh lime juice 3/4 oz simple syrup 3/4 oz creme de mure Shake the gin, lime juice and syrup well with ice, and strain into a highball glass filled with crushed ice. Dribble the creme de mure down through the ice, and garnish with a lime wheel and raspberries.

I ran into one of my male aquaintances on the street today. He is probably the guy friend of mine with the best manners. In the “olden days” men would doff their hats at ladies they passed in the street as a sign of respect. Today I got the modern day equivalent- pulling one iPod earbud out of the ear for a quick, “hi, how are you”.

I was following a car on Green Bay Rd today and it had two bumper stickers, one for the band, The Shins, and another proclaiming, “Domestic Violence has no place in the home” This is ironic considering the lead singer of the Shins hit his girlfriend.

Printed out an Oscar ballot and filled it out for tonight. Probably not going to score too well because I’ve only seen one of the noms for best picture. So, Eric and I did go to CB2. I got some lucite desk accessories, he got a candleholder and a neat box to hold garnishes on his bar. So, being a southerner, I tend to be friendly. And as a former waitress, I always try to be nice to people who are serving me. So I always say hi to the maintenance guy from our building. Today it paid off. He gave me a ride to school. Hilarious.

Emmy and I went to Red Door Salon/Spa this morning and got fantastically pampered. We both got “Warm Cream” mani/pedis. It was deliciously relaxing. On Friday he went to Cincinnati to interview with Proctor & Gamble, and they offered him a job at $63,000. Now, he has a decision to make, grad school or job.
