summer's eve
I always see ads for “Summer’s Eve” products on tv. And I’ve argued with a few different people about them. I’m convinced it’s a line of products for vaginas. Their ads are vague enough to justify this suspicion, and after checking out the website, I’m pretty sure I’m right.
Introducing Ubiquity →
This looks extremely cool.
lifedigital:
Mozilla Ubiquity sets out to integrate popular internet functions. This is still very, very alpha, but the concept is cool. And if anyone can pull this off, it’s Mozilla.
Go U Northwestern
And Northwestern works it out with 30-10 final score. Tyrell Sutton was looking good on the field. Tonight’s plan- Spice Market for dinner with the fam, meeting my brother’s girlfriend, then the bar review with Emory kids at the Brewhouse Cafe in Little Five Points.
i hope you're sitting down
Northwestern football is on ESPN, and we’re winning! J/K syracuse just tied.
And in creationism news...
McCain’s VP wants Creationism taught in our schools. Ideal. I mean, really people, come on! This is like Zeus’s children springing from his head….a myth. It’s a nice story, but it’s not science.

Whoops City!
So I got in a car accident today. My car rolled back down a hill in a parking lot. The car was off, and I could swear the parking brake was on. Luckily no one was hurt and the damage was minor. It’s just frustrating. I’ve been sitting here for an hour with the woman I hit. Luckily, her car is a clunker. She has a lot of other damage, so I can’t see her getting it fixed any time...
in a good mood
I survived my first week of law school. I’m in an amazing mood right now because I have a three day weekend ahead of me, the weather looks gorgeous and I just ate two cupcakes. :)
Also, I’m trying out Adium. It’s an instant messaging system that combines Gchat, AIM, facebook chat, and just about anything else you’ve got. A couple people at law school use it and it seems...
Blue Bell Ice Cream →
Blue Bell, as far as I know, is only available in the south. They rotate out their flavors, and it is, in my opinion, the best ice cream available in grocery stores. I bought one of this month’s special flavors- banana pudding.
I can still remember their tv commercial jingle: “Blue Bell Homemade Ice Cream, it’s the best home country style…Blue Bell…It’s better...
feels like home
Today was a hellish day, between the lack of sleep last night, nuking my stomach with caffeine this morning, 3 classes, and staying at the library until 10. I’m exhausted. For the first time, coming home to my apartment really feels like home. I walk in and I know there’s food, a comfy sofa, and it’s just my space. I miss having roommates, but there are some advantages to living...
jitterbug
As a consequence of staying up so late last night, I am now jazzed on caffeine. I had a large coffee this morning in addition to 2 Midol (used as caffeine pills). I’m tweaking out, tapping my pen fast, flipping my water bottle while I walk, tapping my fingers, shaking my leg. Waaaaaay too much energy now, and I’m completely going to crash and burn in the middle of my afternoon class.

i know, i know
I was going to go out tonight, but come home at a reasonable hour. Obviously, that didn’t happen. I did rep NU well in beer pong…
Also, a new “facebook” for this blog is necessary soon. Character profiles of the new people in my life, coming soon to this blog near you.
Ps
As eric pointed out to me, because my camera on my computer reverses the image, it does look like my left hand in the ring pic. I assure you. It’s not. Posted with LifeCast

Getting ready for day two of law school. My first class this morning is Contracts. My professor doesn’t allow computers. I understand his choice, but I still think it seems a little archaic. This afternoon I have Legal Methods. (Yesterday was Legal Writing and Torts).
also,
Law school involves a lot of homework.
olympic watch
Tonight at 8pm, closing ceremonies. Be there or be square.
how to embarrass yourself in front of people
While dancing last night at the bar, I headbutted a guy in the face. It sounds worse than it was. We both just kind of leaned in at the same time, but with a lot of force. Anyway, yeah. It was pretty epic.
tonight's plan
dinner with the family at Ecco, followed by another bar review at East Andrews. Here’s how the social chair (so to speak) of Emory Law described it:
Saturday, August 23rd, 10:25pm - East Andrews. This bar is in Buckhead. Buckhead is like watching an episode of The Hills on repeat (feel the rain on your skin). East Andrews has two areas: 1) the semi-outdoor downstairs area for mingling; and...

club=gym
So, my first clubbing experience went well. We got in for free with our Emory Card as promised, although I heard the guys had to pay. Drinks were expensive, as expected. The music was good and I danced hard. I ended up getting so hot, I was literally dripping sweat. My hair was entirely wet. This is kind of gross sounding, but It definitely was not just me. So, I decided clubs are kind of like...
the club pt. 2
So, as I mentioned yesterday, I’m going to my first night club ever tonight. I polled various people on what to wear.
Guy answer: something sparkly and slutty
Girl answer: whatever you want, just look hot
Still confusing.
ps
What does one wear to “da club”?
this just keeps getting better
Also, I think I have carpal tunnel in my left hand. Just what I need right now. Actually, after reading about it, I think I’m just sleeping/leaning on my hand strangely. There’s a line vertically across my palm from my middle finger to my wrist that just hurts. Anyone want to weigh in?
back on the apple support threads...
So, this is what’s up with my iPhone currently. I’m reading through the threads trying to find an answer. Basically, my phone isn’t getting email, unless I turn it off and re-boot. It just started doing this last night.
I know this might not be interesting for everyone, but a lot of people seem to have iPhones now, and I figure if these problems are really semi-common, maybe...
iphone is misbehaving
My iPhone is not playing nice. All of a sudden, I can’t get email on my phone. The internet is working just fine, so I know it’s not a problem with my data plan or the edge network. I’ve tried deleting my account and re-setting my email. It will verify the Gmail account, but then I can’t download any emails. AGGHGH…This is espeically annoying as I’ve been...
exhausted
I am absolutely wiped out. Stayed out wayyy too late last night. Plan is to chill at my apt by myself tonight, then rally for tomorrow’s orientation fun and go out with the law school kids to Opera (a club in Atlanta) tomorrow night.
tomorrow's going to suck because i'm not asleep...

...and here I thought I was going to law school
I just got an email from the President of the Student Bar Association with the week’s drinking activities included:
Wednesday - Hand in Hand/Neighbors 752 N Highland Ave NE This is an Emory Law tradition so make sure to show up after the BBQ on Bacardi. $10 pitchers at both bars (but don’t tell the riff raff at Neighbors about it because it’s just for the law students)....
ugh...frustrated
So the first part of this is definitely my fault. While driving this afternoon, I was changing lanes and I almost hit a Lexus. ALMOST, that is the key word here folks. The person in the Lexus proceeded to tailgate me, honk at me and flash his lights at me. This went on for a few blocks. Finally at a stop light, he got out of the car and came up to me to yell at me, claiming that I hit him.
Now,...
team-building
My first day of Emory Law Orientation is tomorrow. On the docket: team-building. I was imagining trust falls, but apparently we’re doing something like Amazing Race. Going to sleep on the early side tonight (AKA, not 3am) because I have to be at Emory at 8 tomorrow.
Also, because I find this hilarious, apparently I have a Chicago accent and dress like I’m from Chicago, according to my...

details on this Llewellyn character
So, the WTF moments start in my law school readings. Enjoy this footnote, explaining who Llewellyn is:
In later years, Professor Llewellyn was married, by all accounts happily, to the near legendary Soia Mentschikoff. one of the first women law professors in the country (at the University of Chicago Law School), Dean of Miami University Law School, an important scholar, and a truly formidable...

I would just like to say, whenever I see a hotmail email address, it makes me nostalgic. I think I still have a hotmail account; it was my first email account in middle school. I just can’t believe anyone still uses hotmail as a primary email address.

ELHS
Apparently every law school is basically a high school. We’re all currently joking about Emory Law being Emory Law High School. There’s only about 230 of us in our class, we have lockers, the gossip and cliques have already started, basically we’re doomed. Lisa and I decided we should make some absurd sweatshirts, definitely with large embroidered letters on the front.

schedule
So I just got my law school schedule. It looks like class 8:30-12 most days then 2-4. On Mondays I don’t have class until 2, and on Friday I’m done by noon. That should make visiting Eric a snap.
