why i don't do yard work
I was working in my yard for 2 hours last night and I got 29 mosquito bites. I was wearing bug spray.

original iPhone warning
Just a note, if you have an original iPhone, don’t use a firewire-based charger. I did and it fried my power port on the bottom of my phone. Now, my phone won’t charge off of a USB charger, and it won’t sync with my computer.
This isn’t a problem with 3G and later models, as they no longer support firewire chargers.
Consequently, I’ll be getting a new iPhone 3GS...

6th house in 6 years
I spent all day yesterday moving into my new house. This is a rental house I’m splitting with two of my best friends from law school. It’s an older house, but it’s charming (and cheap!).
The dresser area. It looks shiny because I was cleaning it with orange glo.
Bed, nightstand, etc.
tv, etc.
I miss my super-huge closet from Gables. But, I’ll make this one...

safari 4.0
I like the aesthetics of Safari 4.0, esp. the “top sites” feature that pops up when I open a new tab. One problem: the browser keeps crashing on me. I am a power internet-user, and I often have 6-8 tabs open at once. Am I doin’ this wrong, or is anyone else having issues with 4.0 acting buggy?

trois is closing
I would like to officially say, I called it. Obviously, I just gave it a negative review; I didn’t predict the closing itself, but I think this somewhat validates my foodie opinion. Concentrics generally has some great restaurants, but Trois just wasn’t a winner. They’re keeping the space and re-branding it, which is great because I love the space.

packing protip
I always stockpile shopping bags (the sturdy paper ones with handles). When I pack, a lot of things end up getting thrown into these bags. They’re easy to carry and don’t take up too much space in your apt when you unpack.
I think my high school newspaper teacher (Ms. Manheim, or R.Mani) was the first person to tell me about this trick.

to clarify
I wouldn’t look down on anyone who went to see Bruno. I just don’t think the humor will appeal to me.
why i probably won't go see "bruno"
This post I read on Videogum today pretty much sums up my feelings on the movie. Basically, it’s one thing to laugh at a culturally-inept fake-foreigner, but it’s a whole other thing when the jokes are at the expense of a group that actually experiences discrimination in America today. Maybe I’m being too sensitive about this one, but to me, Bruno has the sad potential to cross...
moving
I’m moving this weekend. It will be the seventh place I’ve lived in six years. I can’t believe I’m actually moving again, but my rent will be cut in half compared to what I’m paying now, and I’m moving in with two of my best friends (Christine and Maggie). For the summer, I’ll be living with my friend Dave, who is subletting from us. The only things...

hulu to be a subscription based service?
Apparently, there are plans to start charging a subscription fee for hulu. In my opinion, this is a horrible idea. I love watching shows on hulu, because the content is free, easy to find, and high quality. If they start charging for the content, I’ll seek it elsewhere.
