I’ve been to Leon’s three times now, so I feel fully qualified to recommend it. The bar/restaurant was opened by the owners of The Brick Store Pub as a slightly classier alternative. I’m just glad it alleviates the Brick Store crowds.
If possible, ask to sit outside, or enjoy a game of bocce on their courts before sitting down to dinner. They usually have a good selection of beer on draught, about 12 options, and a fairly extensive bottle list. It’s no where near Brick Store’s selection, but it works.
I actually ended up ordering cocktails on my last two visits, and I have to say, they’re the best cocktails I’ve had in Atlanta. They’re almost up to Violet Hour standards.

Dave’s dark beer and my tequila-based cocktail (remember, I’ve been 3 times…)
The menu is divided into 4 sections: snacks, starters & salads, sandwiches and mains. Since I tend to like trying lots of different things, I’ve mainly had items from the first two sections. The food tends to be pub-focused. The charcuterie plate was excellent, with amazing cheese selections. Two of my favorite things that I’ve had came from the snacks section: the radishes with butter and salt and the peppadews stuffed with goat cheese.

Brick Store, and now LFS, are some of the only places where I’ll order a salad, because their salads tend to be amazing.
The only other item I’ve sampled is the mussels cooked in witbier. Fabulous. They come with crusty slices of grilled sourdough for sopping up the sauce.

The only downsides to LFS are the general lack of parking in Decatur and the fact that they don’t take reservations. Prices are moderate, and I’ve always been seated within 20 minutes. I’d recommend LFS for a casual date or for a fun dinner out with friends.
