This weekend was basically perfect. We started on Friday with the Sex and the City movie at 7. I feel like I’m just re-iterating everyone else’s feelings here. We (a giant group of Gamma Phis that went together) all agreed that they did a fabulous job on the movie, and there really wasn’t any way to hate it. It could have sucked in so many ways, but it didn’t.
Then, Emmy and I went to see Wrestlepocalypse, an improv-esque comedy wrestling show. We were still wearing our Sex and the City outfits, and we definitely stuck out.
Yesterday was Dillo Day. We started with a brunch at my apartment for Amanda Zusman’s 21st birthday. Tons of yummy food and coffee with Bailey’s. Then it was off to phi psi on hamlin where we grilled and had beer, followed by beer and beer pong at 912. Eric threw a water balloon at me, even though he knows I hate getting wet (I try not to go outside when it’s raining). So, we had to swing by my place for a quick change.
I caught the end of Third Eye Blind, and then decided hanging out with my friends was more important than seeing the bands, also the lakefill was essentially a mudpit, and I didn’t really want to get into that. So I headed to the lakefill with Eric, Rob, and Ali. Eric and Ali jumped in the lake, Rob and I just waded. We got hungry, so we headed back toward 912.
Perfect timing, as 912 had just fired up the grill. More beer and a hamburger at 912, and I got to man the grill for a bit.
After filling up, Eric and I headed over to Margaret/Leah’s house to say hi to more friends and dip our feet in the baby pool. Then, my favorite part of the day, the dillo day nap.
Eric and I got up and got gelato on the way to Common. We found Emmy at the back of the lakefill and sat on the rocks by the lake with her and the Sigma Chi boys. Common was pretty awesome, and even freestyled with some fantastic Northwestern references. We were hoping for fireworks after the concert, but no such luck.
Seriously, perfect weather, seeing all my friends, perfect day.
