Cliche Pun on Book Title

eat. drink. be merry.

I’ll be following the WWDC coverage here.

12:47 so far it’s just a bunch of apps for the iPhone. They’ll be selling them soon, and offering some for free. Mostly games so far, but cool apps from AP News, eBay, a blogging platform app from TypePad, and now a music creation (think rock band for iPhone) app.

13:11 Looks like iPhone’s getting IM service, Contact Search, ability to save photos from emails, delete emails in bulk and the updates are coming in early July, free for iPhone owners, $9.95 for iPod touch users.

13:30 now we’ve moved onto the anticipated .me update. It appears to be an account called mobileme where you can sync all of your apple devices wirelessly. Add a contact on your phone, it’s automatically updated on your computer. Same with Apple mail. Could this be the feature that gets me back to using my computer’s mail system instead of Gmail? I always have a conflict between Gmail and Gcal and using Apple Mail and iCal. Gmail is much easier to use, and has the added bonus of Gchat. I use iCal though, because I like the to-do list, and it just seems to work better. However, I do keep a Gcal, mainly to sync calendars with Eric. My iCal syncs with my iPhone, and that’s replaced my kate spade day planner as my calendar on the go.

13:40 iPhone 2.0 making me jealous. GPS, 3G (super fast internet), and updated look including flush headphone jack (this was annoying on 1.0 model), also full plastic back and metal buttons

13:47 There will be a white model, also 8 GB will sell for $199, 16 GB for $299, available July 11.

Snow Leopard was confirmed as the new OS 10.6, but no updates during the keynote.  That’s the end.  Le sigh, now how am I going to stop myself from buying that shiny new iPhone when it’s only $200…
