The Flying Biscuit is my favorite place to get breakfast/brunch in Atlanta. I also own the cookbook (gift from my mom last Christmas). It’s not a fancy place, but the food is to die for. There are multiple locations, but they all have the same vibe, hippy chic. The restaurant offers SOYsage instead of sausage, and they serve turkey bacon.

Obviously, from the name, the famous offering is biscuits. Most breakfasts come with a flying biscuit. Creamy, dreamy grits are another special, and my personal favorite thing on the menu. When Eric and I went there this weekend he ordered the eggs-travaganza breakfast, which came with eggs, hash browns, bacon and french toast. The french toast has raspberry sauce and creme anglaise on it. Needless to say, it was heavenly.

One of my favorite brunch/lunch things to get are love cakes. They’re black bean cakes with sour cream, feta and tomatillo salsa. Like a lot of things at the Biscuit, they’re healthy and delicious.
The atmosphere is pretty organic and bohemian, but people from all walks of life in Atlanta flock there for the fantastic food. The decor is eclectic, but it works for the vibe. Service is just how breakfast should be, quick and bright, but not overly invasive.
