Graphic from today’s NYT article on teaching evolution in public schools. At my high school, evolution was taught as a theory, not a fact. We had stickers in the front of our biology books:

I, obviously, was taught that evolution was a crackpot liberal theory. Equally obviously, I did not believe this to be true. I never believed in creationism. But my high school chemistry teacher took time out of our class schedule to lecture us on how creationism was the only true view on the origins of life, even though it definitely wasn’t part of the chemistry curriculum.
