Cliche Pun on Book Title

Tonight was a total success. We’ve started an informal dinner club, where one person hosts and cooks for 5 other people. The only thing you have to bring is your agreement to cook one night for everyone else. I wanted to go all out on my first night, so I made:

Baked Brie appetizer with pecans and Carr’s Table Water Crackers (fave family recipe)

Summer Salad with Spinach, Strawberries and Poppyseed dressing (Flying Biscuit)

Chicken Boudine (Paula Deen) with Baked Asparagus and herbs

Bourbon pecan pie (Paula again)

A few tried and trues, and a few experiments. It was a great group and I had fun playing hostess. Tomorrow, back to the grind… And Ms. Emmy Parsons will be gracing me with her presence this weekend. Exciting!
