Once again, I had a really productive afternoon that had nothing to do with getting homework done.
Earlier this week I had left another textbook on the shuttle. I got the call this afternoon that they had found my book. When I got to the shuttle office, they threw in a free L.L.Bean style tote bag. Score! I know they were kind of making fun of me for losing two textbooks on the shuttle this semester by giving me a giant tote bag, but hey, I’ll take it.
Then I went to the ATM, stopped at Target and got some Glade candles and a small anniversary present for Eric (2 years on the 18th!). I was coveting the Riedel glassware they sell at Target. I really want the stemless white wine glasses.
Next, it was off to the library to return a book and place a whole list of books on hold. I checked out Gravity’s Rainbow by Thomas Pynchon, but I think I’m kidding myself. With my memo due in a little over a week, and exams quickly approaching, I doubt I’ll make it through a book described as “difficult” on Wikipedia.
When I got back to my apartment, I found a postcard from Megan Brown (friend teaching English in Bordeaux, France) and a new issue of Elle Decor. Also found the Christmas gifts I had ordered for Eric’s mom and sister. I’d show what I got them, but I want it to be a surprise.
So, now instead of doing any work, I lit a candle (mmm apple cinnamon) and I’m enjoying some juice and my magazine. :)
