Kinda fell off the blogging horse this weekend.
Friday night was a group dinner and group bar outing. We went to one of my favorite Atlanta bars (Brick Store Pub). It reminds me of Hopleaf: great food and a dizzying array of beers. It was a fun night, but at the end of it I needed a break. Eric and I both share an aversion to big group outings, especially when they involve a giant group check. People tend to be funny about money, especially grad students who don’t have a lot of it. Figuring out the check and paying always turns into an ordeal. Also, Brick Store just isn’t a good place for a big group. Much more fun with about 4 people.
Saturday was spent helping Brian Lynch, ex-boyfriend and rockstar extraordinaire, sell everything out of his house. Brian, who I have known since I was 15, is finally leaving the state of GA. His family has moved to Cali, and after graduating from GaTech, he has decided to join them. One problem. He’s been living in his parents house while waiting for it to sell. It has been sold, and the new owners are demolishing it to build a McMansion. On Saturday we were trying to sell everything we possibly could. People wanted to buy the strangest things. They left the sofa and the big-screen tv, but wanted the doors, the ceiling fans, and the furnace (WTF?). We made $700.
After the garage sale, Brian and I went to Harrell’s house to watch football, drink beer, eat pizza, and have some port (random celebration). I had Anchor Steam beer for the first time that I can remember. It was their Christmas Ale, and it is delicious. I’m definitely snagging a six-pack later this week.
Sunday I spent on my mom’s couch in front of the fireplace, working my way through the Twilight saga. Yes, I am a total nerd. Email me if you want to go see the movie this weekend.
I should be freaking out about law school exams and the fact that I have an 18 page memo due on Monday, but I don’t think I was born with the freakout gene. I often say I don’t ever get stressed, and while that isn’t entirely true, it does take a lot to stress me out.
