Cliche Pun on Book Title

eat. drink. be merry.

I can’t figure out how to put the umlaut over the e in Joel, but just imagine it’s there.

This was another underwhelming meal. I feel bad hating on Atlanta favorites, but some of these four star places have gotten incredibly complacent. Joel didn’t even seem to be trying. Eric and I (obviously a couple in our twenties) were seated next to a large group table with several children. The restaurant wasn’t even half full. Yes, I should have asked to move. I didn’t, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was a bad seating job.

Our waiter seemed distracted all night and was slightly confused by some simple requests. When Eric ordered scotch after dinner and specified “on the rocks”, the waiter asked, “for both of them?” because for some reason he assumed Eric was ordering two?

I can’t complain about the food. It was absolutely delicious.

Fabulous butternut squash risotto with perfect fall flavors.

My lobster dish was so filling, I didn’t have room for dessert (rare for me).

I did have a boozy coffee though. :)

I have a huge affinity for tiny copper pots.

The wine we had was the real standout of the evening. It was a white blend called Conundrum. I’m going to have to seek that out.

The dining room had been re-decorated since my last visit. It’s smaller, but brighter and slightly louder. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Joel for a romantic occasion. Go here for business lunch. Expense account budget would help. I thought the place was a bit overpriced.
