So, I started reviewing restaurants and other local businesses on Yelp back in December. They created an iPhone app, and I started using the website as well. I know Yelp is controversial for some people. There have been payola-esque accusations. All I can say is that my experience has been overwhelmingly positive. I’m a big believer in crowdsourcing. The wisdom of the masses, etc, etc.
Anyway, today I got an email from a Yelp moderator of sorts:
“You clearly rock! Why you ask? Because those fingers of yours have been on a real roll with all of the funny, useful and cool reviews you’ve been writing lately, that’s why! Seriously, your reviews have been some of the best we’ve read in Atlanta, and that’s why we come to your inbox today, to make you an offer you just can’t refuse. Well we guess you can, but where’s the fun in that!! So here goes…
We’d officially like to invite you to join the ‘09 Yelp Elite Squad!”
Anyway, it means I get a little badge on my profile, and I get invited to Yelp Elite events. I think the events sound like fun, and possibly a good way to meet some non-law school people. (No offense law school friends…but I need an outlet!)
